Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic musician, singer and actor. He combines jazz from the soul genre with R&B to create a unique blend. Avery Sunshine has performed on Broadway and at festivals in Europe. She has also performed at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine's title is Denise White. While she's based in Atlanta however, her roots lie located in Chester Pennsylvania. There she was the first to begin pursuing an interest in music, singing and playing the piano in a church. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship on the city's R&B scene. Her voice was also added to the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations. The band was hired as the principal keyboardist for Tyler Perry's play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her singing and her music, invited Sunshine to sing in the Dreamgirls production at Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained national recognition through her performances on four consecutive days at the Democratic National Convention. She was invited to perform in the Obama administration's 2009 inauguration.
