Nancy Wilson (jazz singer) was born to Olden Wilson who was the Chillicothe ironworker on 20 February 1937. She was the daughter of Lillian Ryan worked as household helper. Cannonball Adderley encouraged her to move to New York to further her career, and she moved there to The Big Town at the end of 1959. Within a month she got an offer to sing in The Blue Morocco Night Club located on Boston Road in The Bronx the place where her agent heard her and signed her.
