April Ross

April Ross is one of only a few female beach volleyball athletes to capture medals at many Olympics. Alix Klineman is a new Olympian who will be joining her at Tokyo. But more than that, Ross will be aiming for her first Olympic gold. In fact, at 39, it could be her final chance to achieve it. The athlete is optimistic she will be able to win top awards. Ross, via NBC Boston, said that if the team plays very well, or even at all, they can earn a gold. In addition, I'll try some chances. Ross was born the 22, 1982, at Costa Mesa California. She lived there with her family. Ross competed in many activities while at Newport Harbor High School. In addition to playing indoor volleyball, she also ran track and basketball as a pre-collegiate athlete. In the last sport she stood out. Based on her biography, she was a middle blocker and an outside hitting volleyball player throughout her time in high school. Gatorade Circle Of Champions named her the national Player of 1999. She also captured the 2000 Orange County Athlete of the Year trophy for volleyball. Ross and Klineman might have begun working together at the beginning of 2017, but Ross was already an established volleyball player before they teamed up. In reality, she's won multiple big tournaments and one of them was a volleyball superstar. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 to 2013. Kessy was Ross's co-coach at the World Championships of 2009. In 2012, the duo won silver at London's Olympic Games. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the team that could take home the gold. Ross Jennings took over for May-Treanor when she retired. They won the bronze medal in beach volleyball at Rio Olympics 2016. Ross was a college player for USC Trojans before the start of her professional career. She was a player in high school, as well as some years before she hit the beach as a professional. This was an impressive career for Ross in the school. She was a All-American as well as Pac-10 Freshman of the Year in 2000 as a young freshman. Additionally, she assisted her Trojans to reach the Final Four. Her personal life was tense after a devastating loss in her sophomore, yet was able to achieve the All-American title. In her last two seasons within the team, she guided the Trojans towards the summit of the mountain winning successive national titles. In her own way Ross established her status in the history books by winning the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. This award was given to the top female college volleyball players in the United States. Ross, a USC international relations student was a star in volleyball. Margie Ross never saw her daughter make it to the top of the beach volleyball ladder. Ross's mother died of cancer of the breast when she was a sophomore in USC. Ross is still awed by her mother who died. Margie has inspired her in her life and on the beaches.
